PCINEWS: Dipika Pallikal went down in a thrilling five-game semi-final to Nouran Gohar of Egypt in the Monte Carlo Classic being held in Monaco. Junior World No. 1 Gohar upset the second seeded Indian 9-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-8, 11-2 in 70 minutes. Facing a do or die situation, Gohar found her lengths and cut down the errors drastically to take the third 11/8. The Indian no.1 made far too many errors to lose the fourth 11/8 setting up an intriguing decider.  In the final game, Gohar needed an injury break to stop her bleeding but came back to end Dipika Pallikal’s tournament in a commanding display of stroke making to clinch the game 11/2 and a place in the final. “To in this game, I needed to be very precise but Nouran played too well this evening. I wasn’t able to find the solutions to win the match,” said Dipika Pallikal, who was the highest seed left in the draw going into the semi-finals.
