PCINEWS:  The deal has been done, and Jammu Kashmir will finally see a government formed by two parties which are ideologically miles apart. It is being felt in Jammu region that the compromise between the two parties has happened because BJP has bent too much on crucial ideological points such as abrogation of Article 370, revocation of AFSPA, and settlement of West Pakistan refugees. Jammu voted for BJP because the region wants an end to the discrimination which it has been facing for last half a century. While the BJP may term this deal as politics of pragmatism the people of Jammu now expect the BJP ministers, and leaders to undo the damage which has been caused by years of neglect, and discrimination. The entire state administration, and appratus has been geared towards serving the Kashmir valley, and it is time the BJP state leadership makes a strong effort to decentralize the entire set-up, and focus on delivering governance in every nook and corner of the state. There is rampant corruption in every department, and the new government will do well to release the list of corrupt officials, and also initiate strict action against those caught in this act. As per the new deal Mufti Mohd Sayeed would be the CM, and it is expected that Nirmal Singh of BJP will be the Deputy CM. The people hope that Singh despite his inexperience should not act as a rubber stamp minister, and make every effort to ensure that there is parity in governance. There may be a deal not to touch on contentious issues but the major problems in J&K are not about big issues but basic Sadak, bijli, pani, roads, and parking which needs to be resolved. There is need for creation of jobs in the private sector because there is a limit to government employment. Sources said that PDP has proposed the names of Abdul Rehman Veeri, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Dr. Haseeb Drabu, Advocate Abdul Haq Khan, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and Imran Raza Ansari to be included in state cabinet. The BJP is likely to include Kavinder Gupta, Bali Ram Bhagat and Sham Lal Chaudhary, apart from Nirmal Singh . Peoples Conference Chairman, Sajad Gani Lone is also likely to be a cabinet minister. While efforts are being made to give representation to all parts of the state, and also to young, and experienced leaders but the people particularly those in Jammu want the BJP to ensure that they are not let down any more by cowing down to the demands of the Kashmir centric parties. More than anything they want respect, and equality in this distribution of power else for them everything is lost despite ensuring a big win for the BJP, and bringing it to power for the first time in the state.
